Dr. Carli Blau, Renowned Sex Therapist for Women and Men Looking for More Pleasure in Their Lives.

Sex Therapist

Dr. Blau works with individuals and couples navigating infertility-related sexual stress, lowered sexual esteem, pelvic floor dysfunction, sexual pain, and sexual anxiety. As a sex therapist, she helps clients understand the emotional, psychological, familial, and relational patterns underneath their sexual concerns — the deeper roots of what's getting in the way of intimacy, pleasure, and connection.

Pain-to-Pleasure Coach

For women living with pelvic or vaginal pain who are ready for tangible, directive guidance, Dr. Blau offers pain-to-pleasure coaching. This is hands-on, action-focused work — teaching women exactly what to do with their bodies to move past the pain and into pleasure. It's less about analysis and more about practical skill-building, with Dr. Blau guiding every step of the way.

Marriage & Couples Therapist

In her work with couples, Dr. Blau is the bulldozer in the office — direct, unafraid, and skilled at cutting through years of buildup to get to what actually needs to be said. She helps partners navigate the most complex dynamics in their relationships, holding space for tough conversations while pushing both people toward real change. Her style is honest, decisive, and deeply invested in helping couples either rebuild their relationship or find clarity about its future.

Practice Development Mentor & Founder

Dr. Blau is also the founder of Boutique Psychotherapy, a concierge mental health group practice with clinicians in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Florida. Her team provides individual and couples therapy virtually and in person. Drawing on her experience building her own practice from the ground up, Dr. Blau mentors fellow clinicians in brand development, website design, social media strategy, and business growth — helping them build practices that reflect who they are.

Educator, Author & Speaker

Dr. Blau lectures for foundations and organizations on sexual health and is frequently quoted in major publications. She is a contributing author in the book Maternal Hope and is currently writing her first solo book, expected in 2027.

“You’re going to sleep with one person for the rest of your life.

Better be the best sex and the person you love the most and that person is YOU.”

-Dr. Blau

Why She Stopped Doing Therapy?

After 10+ years as a therapist, Dr. Carli made a decision that surprised everyone but her: she stopped doing therapy. Not because it doesn't work — she still believes in it deeply, which is why her therapy techniques live on at Boutique Psychotherapy, the clinical practice she founded, in the hands of the team she trained.

She stopped because she watched something happen up close. Her husband found his way to AA, and she saw what a program did for him — the structure, the steps, the accountability, the finish lines that open into new beginnings. Therapy asks you to show up and talk. A program asks you to show up and do. Watching him transform, she kept coming back to one question: why do we reserve programs for people in recovery? Don't the rest of us deserve a structured path to betterment too?

That question became the 12-Week Path — and the work of transforming lives, twelve weeks at a time, with one goal and no circling.

Her Story

Dr. Carli Blau dreamt of becoming a sex therapist at 15. Today, she is a Sex Doctor, Life Coach, Founder and proud mom working with clients in New York, New Jersey, and Florida. It started with late nights reading Human Sexuality textbooks at a friend's house and grew into a 15-year career at the intersection of sex and empowerment.

She brought her early work as a sex educator online in 2008 with a blog that was featured in over 142 countries and drew more than a million hits a year. With a Master's in Television, Radio, and Film from Syracuse University, she turned her content into a campus-wide TV show — Honestly Naked TV — which she hosted, produced, and directed. After working as an associate TV producer for 10 months, she pursued her graduate degree at Columbia University School of Social Work, where she interned in the Emergency Room at NYC's renowned Bellevue Hospital.

She went on to work in a private practice on the Upper East Side while completing a Master of Education in Human Sexuality from Widener University, followed by her Doctoral Degree, with research published in Sexual Esteem and Infertility-Related Sexual Stress. She is now on Instagram as @SexDocCarli informing thousands of people about sex, relationships, motherhood and empowerment.

In her spare time, Dr. Carli enjoys dancing with her two children and her lovely husband.
