Painful Sex Support & Recovery

Dr. Carli Blau specializes in helping women work through pain and regain the confidence they need to be the sexual beings they were born to be.

Most women see me for 21-27 sessions in one year and make a recovery to enjoy pain-free sex.

sex is not supposed to be painful, but just because it is, doesn’t mean you are broken.

Sex Therapy for Pelvic Pain & Vaginal Pain Disorders

Why Sex Therapy Matters When You’re Living With Pelvic or Vaginal Pain

Pelvic pain and vaginal pain disorders—such as vaginismus, vulvodynia, vestibulodynia, endometriosis-related pain, or painful intercourse—can affect not only your physical comfort but also your mental health, self-esteem, and intimate relationships.

While medical providers focus on diagnosing and treating the physical symptoms, most doctors are not trained to address the emotional, psychological, and relational impact of these conditions. That’s where sex therapy comes in.

My Approach

I provide talk-therapy focused sex therapy designed to work in conjunction with your medical providers. I do not replace your gynecologist, pelvic floor physical therapist, or pain specialist. Instead, I focus on the sexual, relational, and emotional side of healing—the pieces of your life that often remain unspoken in medical offices.

My style is direct, compassionate, and practical. I create a safe, shame-free environment where you can talk openly about your pain, your fears, and your hopes for intimacy. Together, we explore the impact pain has had on your body image, your sexuality, and your relationships, and we work toward rebuilding confidence, comfort, and pleasure.
