Painful Sex Support & Recovery
Carli specializes in helping women work through pain and regain the confidence they need to be the sexual beings they were born to be.
Most women see me for 21-27 sessions in one year and make a recovery to enjoy pain-free sex.
sex is not supposed to be painful, but just because it is, doesn’t mean you are broken.
Option 1: Sex Therapy — Healing the Roots
Sex therapy is for women who want to understand the deeper story behind their pain. Pelvic and vaginal pain rarely exist in isolation; they're often shaped by emotional history, psychological patterns, family dynamics, past trauma, and the relational context of your current intimate life. Through talk therapy, we explore those layers — the unspoken fears, the inherited beliefs about sex and the body, the relational dynamics that may be reinforcing pain, and the impact all of this has on your sense of self.
This work is reflective, in-depth, and designed to work alongside your medical team — your gynecologist, pelvic floor physical therapist, or pain specialist. I don't replace their care; I focus on the sexual, relational, and emotional side of healing that so often goes unaddressed in medical offices.
Sex therapy is the right fit if you want to:
Understand why the pain is there and what it's connected to
Process trauma, shame, or difficult experiences tied to sex or your body
Explore how pain is affecting your relationship, identity, or intimacy
Heal from the inside out, with insight as the foundation for change
Option 2: Pain-to-Pleasure Coaching — Hands-On, Directive, Action-Focused
Pain-to-pleasure coaching is for women who already understand the emotional landscape and are ready for tangible tools, structure, and directive guidance to start having sex that feels good. This is the hand-holding work — focused, practical, and oriented toward results. We're not unpacking the past; we're building skills, practicing techniques, and creating a clear roadmap to move from pain to pleasure.
Coaching is more directive than therapy. I'll guide you step by step through what to do with your body, how to communicate with your partner, how to approach intimacy in ways that feel safe, and how to reintroduce pleasure on your terms.
Pain-to-pleasure coaching is the right fit if you want to:
Skip the deeper analysis and focus on actionable tools
Get clear, directive guidance on what to do with your body
Build practical skills to have pain-free, pleasurable sex
Move quickly and concretely from where you are to where you want to be
Not Sure Which Path Is Right for You?
Many clients begin in one and transition into the other — or weave them together. In a consultation, we'll talk through what you're experiencing and decide which approach (or combination) makes the most sense for your goals.
My style across both is the same: direct, compassionate, practical, and shame-free. Whatever you choose, you'll have a guide who takes your pain seriously and believes deeply that pleasure is possible for you.
There are two paths to Healing: Sex Therapy & Pain-to-Pleasure Coaching.
Pelvic and vaginal pain disorders — including vaginismus, vulvodynia, vestibulodynia, endometriosis-related pain, and painful intercourse — affect far more than your body. They touch your mental health, your self-esteem, and your most intimate relationships. While medical providers focus on diagnosing and treating physical symptoms, most are not trained to address the emotional, psychological, and relational layers underneath. That's where my work comes in.
I offer two distinct paths, depending on what you need most right now.
